BF3 graphics benchmarks
« on: November 01, 2011, 10:07:56 PM »

For anyone in the market for a new video card, and you want to ensure it plays Battlefield 3 well, here's a benchmark from Tom's Hardware.  Very nicely done, rating 30 cards.
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/battlefield-3-graphics-performance,3063.html

Has a couple of tips to help performance too even if you aren't in the market for a new card.  The main thing being this:

Quote
Cranking the Anti-Aliasing Post (FXAA) filter all the way up to High does very little to performance, though it also affects image quality in a different way than MSAA. Because the penalty it exacts is so minor, though, keep Anti-Aliasing Post turned on all of the time.

Be more conservative with the Anti-Aliasing Deferred option, turning it on and up only when you have the performance headroom to spare, ensuring you can maintain playable frame rates.

LOL.  Hedo I think you should be fine.  I picked up a gtx 580 too and i'm getting 60-70fps at 1920x1080 with the graphics maxed out.

It looks like I'd get around 70 fps at high quality in 1080 p. Pretty good. I read that the 6990 smoked the gtx 590 in fps and Amd won out on the super high res graphics quality. Probly because of the massive amount of vram all the new cards have.
