As a couple of you may know i have been tinkering with thoughts of changing out the fans on my PC and changing to a more advanced water cooling unit.
Today i started on what i am going to call project Agent Orange. I will take photos with my phone, sorry not the best quality but at least you guys can follow along with the changes to the PC. I will update with photos and descriptions of what i am doing shortly

here are some photos of the build so far. Sorry for the quality, taken with my crappy phone. Fancy lighting and led fans are on the way however i will have to solder in orange led's as no one makes Orange led fans in my size.

I like the water cooled one, how much does that usually cost to have installed? Like a ball park range?

A good water cooling kit runs around $300 to $500
I was going to go with a full water cooling loop but i cant get a water block for my video card as its a non standardized design nor can i get one for parts of the MB. The thing is i could still get all the parts and run the cpu super efficient and have the ability to water cool everything in the future but it seems more cost effective to have a small pump/res combo and just cool the cpu with a small radiator like i have now.

Ok i just threw some new fans in to see how they look and will perform. They are not the ones i planned on getting but they flow the same amount of air, required no mods as they have the orange glow to them and after a rebate cost me about $10 each.
Not the greatest pic but here is a peak!

yes the white led's are irritating but my plan is to go with a transparent orange window in place of the clear window.

I had some smoked acrylic laying around so i cut a window and put it into the case. I am pretty happy with this right now as it dulled down the white led's on the fans and now has just left a slight mellow orange glow.
The fans running my corsair h70 water cooling unit are going to be replaced. The static pressure on them is just not enough. I should be able to hit 4.4 ghz with this processor but the cooling right now just wont allow it. Maybe it's time for a corsair h100 or an actual full water cooling kit.

Well the fancy colored new fans just didn't flow enough air, Cooling was suffering just a bit compared to what i am used to. I dug into my box of PC stuff in the closet and found a couple of 190mm high speed fans from a previous build. I took out the orange fans to see if i could make these slightly larger fans fit. Looks like they would with some ingenuity so off to the hardware store i went. Came back and mounted them up with a Hot glue gun as the holes wouldn't line up due to them being 190mm fans where as the stock fans are 180mm.
They do push a lot more air but at the expense of noise. I have yet to order a fan controller so i dug into my box of stuff and found a way to lower the voltage on them down from 12 volts to 7 volts. Still a bit noisier than i would want but now the cooling is better than ever. I still have some new fans coming for the radiator Monday i think.
Pic of the new fans installed.

Well i was just being cautious so i checked the inline power resistors i put on the new 190mm fans. They where hot to the touch, actually pretty damn hot to the touch.
So after the low flow of the 170mm orange fans and the noise and resistor issues of the 190mm fans i decided to put the factory fans back into the case. For just a bit of pizazz i put a red led strip under the fans so they do have a bit of a glow to them.
More stuff is on the way so keep an eye out for future mods of " Agent orange " and be on the watch for a new project coming.

Well the new 120mm fans from Cougar showed up on Monday. No fancy Led's but what they do is move lots of air quietly. I have 2 of them in push pull on my Corsair H70 water cooling unit and the stock bottom 180mm case fans are on high.
Idle cpu temps of 31 deg Celsius with a 1.2ghz overclock. Stock cpu is 3.06ghz and now it is 4.2ghz. My ram is stock 1600mhz and now over clocked to 1750mhz. The video card is factory over clocked but i turned it up just a bit. Got 8036 on 3dmark 11 test.
I am happy for now but always looking for more, lol!
