The new build begins part 1.
« on: February 16, 2011, 11:07:25 PM »

Made some decisions finally and ordered up a new mother board tonight.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131666

I went with Intel for the sole fact that i prefer Nvidia graphics cards and if i want to go sli i cant do it with an AMD board. Intel also supports tripple channel ram and AMD only supports dual channel.

I am still doing research on what RAM and CPU i want to go with but i have decided to eventually go with a pair of these video cards in SLI

It will be several weeks before i get everything done but i am looking forward to the performance increase.

After taking a break from COD4 and BC2 i am starting to enjoy playing again! >:

The mother board has arrived  http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131666  and it looks sweet!

I went ahead and ordered some ram  http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231358  the color scheme goes well with the board and even though the ram is rated at 1600mhz it easily over clocks to almost 2000mhz.

Here is the cooler i am thinking about ordering  http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835118075  It has a red led and goes with the looks of my new stuff. Also it performs very well in reviews i read.

I just haven't decided on what CPU to go with yet or how much money i am willing to spend. With 12gb of ram and 3 slots still open i could eventually have 24gb of ram. I want to make this computer future proof for awhile so a 6 core would be the logical choice. Now if i could only find the most awesome deal in the world on one.  http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115066

I also ordered some red led's for the inside of the case  http://www.nzxt.com/new/products/case_accessories/sleeved_led_kit_-_red  I think the black and red theme will look killer!

Looks like direct x11 is the future so i will be looking into a new video card/cards after the build is complete.

Don't forget i am looking into upgrading my internet to 50mb down and 10mb up,Ha!Ha!

One more thing.............FUCK YOU ANDY! This is all your fault for building a new system and making me look at hardware again! There i said it!

Since it is Andy's fault, you should bill him for it.

Well after having some difficulty with my old hardware tonight i went ahead and bought some stuff i was waiting to get.

This processor should easily overclock to 4.4ghz and that will send my ram from 1600 to about 1866mhz. The self contained water cooling unit should keep it all nice and cool!

Really all i need money for now is a copy of windows 7.

well maybe some other things as well but i will be ready to roll soon!
